Nationally Accredited Programs for Associations, Franchises & Enterprises
Nationally recognised training is any program or training that leads to vocational qualifications and credentials recognised across Australia. It includes:
- studying at a public (eg TAFE) or private training provider (Registered Training Organisation)
- completing an apprenticeship, certificate or diploma course
Aligning organisational ‘best practice’ learning and development programs to a Nationally Recognised Training framework requires expertise but can result in employer benefits such as:
- Potential access to government funding support
- Official workforce skill achievement recognition eg nationally accredited certification for training completion
- Achievement of mandated certification outcomes required under government regulation
- Potential access to traineeship or apprenticeship models for cost effective workforce development
Only Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) can certify Nationally Recognised Training programs and issue nationally recognised qualifications or statements of attainment under strict compliance requirements monitored by a national regulator called the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
Registered training organisations (RTOs) often work with other organisations (third parties) to deliver a range of services, including providing marketing, undertaking recruitment, using facilities and resources, and training and/or assessment of vocational education and training (VET) courses. Further information on this is available on the ASQA website by clicking here.
A third party partnership can support organisations to access Nationally Recognised Training without the added burden of becoming their own Registered Training Organisation. For those preferring to take on the challenge of becoming their own RTO, further information is available from ASQA by clicking on this link.
